Our new time bar in Discover lets you select any time point within your dataset across daily, weekly or monthly granularities to compare with the previous period and previous year. 

We've compiled a short list of the things you need to know about Unexpected changes with our new time bar.

Historical periods

Unexpected changes are only available for the latest period in your dataset. In this example, the dataset contains data up to 31 July 2019. Anna has surfaced unexpected changes in the data in comparison to the previous month (June 2019) and the previous year (July 2018).

If you toggle to a period that is not the latest period in your dataset (January 2019 in this example), a message will appear to notify you that unexpected changes are not available.

Permission levels
You will only be able to see unexpected changes in your data if you have full access to the dataset. If your dataset admin has set up row or column based permissions on your data then you will see this message:
